1. How to Sync Messages from iPhone to Mac

Step 1: Sign into iCloud on iPhone and Mac

The first thing you need to do to receive text messages on your Mac is to log in to iCloud on both devices using the same Apple ID. Follow these simple steps to do that on your iPhone.

Step 1: Open the settings app. Tap on iCloud and if you are logged in, you should see your ID at the top. If not, go on and sign in.



Step 2: Open System Preferences on your Mac. Tap iCloud and your email address should appear under the user icon on the left. If you are not logged in, take a moment to do that.



Step 3: To make sure you are logged into messages specifically on your Mac, open the messages app tap on “Messages” at the top. Select “Preferences.”



Step 4: Tap on the account that says “iMessages” and make sure you are logged in with the same Apple ID on both devices.


Step 2: Sync Messages from iPhone to Mac

Now that you’re logged in, you need to set up text message forwarding on your iPhone to sync the messages. Follow these simple steps to do that.

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone and then tap “Messages.” In the resultant window, select “Send & Receive.”

Step 3: Go back to “Messages” and tap “Message Forwarding.” Toggle on your Mac.



Step 4: A popup should appear, asking for a code. Simultaneously a code should appear on your Mac in the messages app.



Step 5: Enter the code on your iPhone and tap “Allow.” And you should now be able to get your text messages on your Mac.
